Climate Depot’s Marc Morano made a stop at Good Ole’ Rocky Top last week, bringing his signature no-holds-barred commentary on climate politics to students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
At an event hosted by CFACT Collegians Ayden Craft and Jude Abernathy, more than a dozen students filled the room for politics, pizza, and a conversation that sounded wildly different from what students had heard in their classrooms this semester: one that questioned the climate agenda rather than treating it as gospel.
Morano, executive editor and chief correspondent of CFACT’s Climate Depot, has made a career out of challenging the climate establishment. A former staff member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, author, and frequent television commentator, he’s hardly one to shy away from a controversial opinion.
His presentation, “Death of Global Warming?! Is the Climate Agenda Collapsing? Will Midterms Resurrect It?”, examined the political future of the climate movement, as the 2026 midterm elections quickly approach in the upcoming weeks.

From restrictions on gas-powered cars and air travel to lab-grown meat and insects making their way onto dinner plates, Morano questioned just how far the climate agenda could reach into Americans’ everyday lives. Apparently, saving the planet might mean giving up your SUV and swapping your steak for cockroach milk.
But it wasn’t just the subject matter that caught the students’ attention.

“He was a little brutally honest about some subjects, which I really enjoyed,” Jude said. “You don’t get too many independent opinions like that he had!”
Morano’s appearance in the Volunteer State served as an opportunity to bring a different perspective on energy and environmental policy to campus, giving students something not every climate lecture can guarantee: a few laughs along the way.
