Six Challenges the US Must Win | Hoover Institution

The Hoover Institution hosted Six Challenges the US Must Win on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022 from 12:00 – 1:00pm PT.
Watch the discussion with Ylli Bajraktari and the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP) team. The SCSP is tasked with developing a plan to improve the United States’ techno-economic competitiveness by 2025 and identifying technology areas where we must act by 2030 to retain our advantage. TEG Working Group co-chair Dr. Amy Zegart spoke with Mr. Bajraktari and authors of the SCSP report, Mid-Decade Challenges to National Competitiveness, about what they’ve learned and their recommendations.

The discussion, followed by a Q&A, focused on how the US addresses six major challenges: Harnessing the New Geometry of Innovation; Restoring the Sources of Techno-Economic Advantage; Developing an American Approach to AI Governance; Remaking U.S. Global Leadership in the Age of Technology Competition; The Future of Conflict and the New Requirements of Defense; and Intelligence in an Age of Data-Driven Competition.

The SCSP is a bipartisan, non-profit initiative that grew out of the Congressionally-mandated National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence.
