In 1935, government made us a promise: Even if you don’t save for your retirement, government will save… for you.
But politicians misled us. They don’t save your Social Security payments. They spend every penny the moment it came in.
Now payouts exceed income by $160 billion!
Can social security be saved?
“There is a plan out there to save it, but it requires some tough choices,” says Romina Boccia, Director of Budget and Entitlement Policy at the Cato Institute.
We should make these adjustments now, so we don’t really hurt people when Medicare and Social Security go bankrupt.
